Antonio John Gringeri, 91, of Derry, NH, passed away Tuesday August 13, 2019 at the Bedford Hills Center in Bedford, NH, after a period of declining health. Mr. Gringeri was born May 8, 1928 in Watertown, MA and was a son of the late Carmello and Rose (Brigandi) Gringeri. He was a longtime resident of Derry and had been at Bedford Hills for several years.
Antonio served in the US Army and spent his working career as a truck driver, working in the family business Gringeri Trucking. He had a lifelong love of trucks, not just driving, but working on them also.
Members of the family include his wife of 56 years, Elsa (Range) Gringeri of Derry, a son and his wife, Anthony and Lynn Gringeri of Hudson, NH, two daughters, Diane Gringeri of Tyngsboro, MA, and Linda, Gringeri of Augusta, ME. Four grandchildren, Austin Desrochers, Chelsea Flynn, Melissa Koval and Jennifer Murray, four great grandchildren, a brother, Joseph Gringeri of Windham, NH and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his eldest grandson, Kyle Gringeri in July 2019.
Calling hours were held Friday August 16, 2019 from 9 to 11 am at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH. A Catholic Prayer Service was held at 11:00 am in the funeral home. The burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery in Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 166 S River Rd #210, Bedford, NH 03110.
