James M. Froebel, age 59, passed away on July 31, 2019 at home after battling late stage prostate cancer. He was born on Aug. 21, 1960, a son of the late Herman H. and Beverly (Bertrand) Froebel. James worked as a carpenter for many years. He also worked as a driver for the VA and was very involved with the Veterans Program in Leeds, MA. He leaves his 2 sons, Jeremiah Froebel and Natasha Hulstrunk of Pittsfield and Josh Froebel of Pittsfield; 1 daughter Melissa Thurlow of Saugas; 2 grandchildren, Cyrus Froebel and Xavier Greb; 1 brother Phillip Froebel of Springfield and 1 sister Cherylann Vieira of Ludlow. He is predeceased by 2 brothers Fred and Michael. Calling hours will be held on the morning of the funeral from 8:30-9:30 AM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee followed by a committal service at 10:00 AM in the chapel of the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
