Obituary

WORCESTER___Eve (Jurgelionis) Grudzinskas, 86, of 60 South St., died peacefully in her sleep Saturday January 14 at home. Her husband, Albert J. Grudzinskas, Sr., died August 16, 1980.

She leaves two sons, Albert J. Grudzinskas, Jr., and his wife Joy of Oxford; and Michael J. Grudzinskas and his wife Kirsten of Barre; two daughters, Julianne M. Grudzinskas of Hollywood, Maryland and Christine M. Mancini and her husband Michael of Spencer; a sister, Theresa Cody of Barre; six grandchildren, Jason, Lisa, Marcella, Nicholas, Erika and Ali and three great-grandchildren, Robert, Rilee and Daniel and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two brothers, Francis and Julius Jurgelionis. Eve was born in Worcester, a daughter of Frank and Marcelle (Nastaravicius) Jurgelionis and lived here all her life.

Mrs. Grudzinskas was a nurse’s aide 20 years at Worcester County Hospital, Boylston and retired in 1989. Before then she worked 10 years in the housekeeping dept. for Worcester Academy.

She was a graduate of St. Casimir School and the former Ascension High School where she was valedictorian of her class. Mrs. Grudzinskas was a member of St. Casimir Church, and the St. Casimir Ladies Sodality. She was a fifth degree member of Council 26 Knights of Lithuania, was a founding member of the Lithuanian Democratic League and was a member of the former Lithuanian Naturalization and Social Club.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday January 18 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 12 NOON in St. Casimir Church, 41 Providence St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday January 17 from 3 to 7 pm. Members of Council 26 Knights of Lithuania will meet at 4 pm during calling hours to conduct their ritual.
