WORCESTER-Mary T. (Walsh) Dunn, 73, of Worcester died on Sunday, January 15th peacefully at home amidst the love of her family. She leaves her husband of 48 years, James W. Dunn, Jr., 3 sons; James W. Dunn, III and his wife Jo-Ann of Rutland, Kevin M. and his wife Judy Dunn of Webster and Thomas J. and his wife Cristie Dunn of Gardner, a daughter; Mary Beth wife of Bill Stanton of Holden, 3 grandchildren; Brendan, Ryan and Katherine-Rose, who called her “Nana”, her beloved sister and friend; Katherine M. Walsh of Worcester, a sister-in-law; Ruth Walsh of Milford, CT, many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Her brother; Thomas J. Walsh predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Thomas J. and Mary “Minnie” (Walsh) Walsh, both born in Ireland. She was a graduate of St. Stephen’s High School, class of 1950. Mrs. Dunn was employed by New England Telephone and Telegraph while raising her children. She also was employed by Sawyer Lumber and Hanover Insurance Company. Mrs. Dunn was a devout member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and a member of the Worcester Police Wives Association. Her many interests included crafts, sewing, walking and greatest of all her grandchildren.
The funeral is Wednesday, January 18th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 9:45 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial is private. A calling hour will be from 8:00 AM until the time of the funeral.
