Ida Mae Parks, 66, of Tifton died Saturday, January 14, 2006 and Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Ronald Parks and Rev. Lloyd Stembridge will officiate with burial to follow at Oakridge Cemetery. Michael Parks, Christopher Parks, Brandon Glover, James Brady, Johnny O'Quinn and Kenny Peters will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday evening, January 16, 2006 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson.
Ms. Parks was born on September 28, 1939 in Ty Ty. She was the son of Lee Johnson and Fannie McDaniel Johnson, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Parks, who died in 1990 and one brother, Virgil Lee Johnson. She was retired from South Georgia Ice Company and was a member of Anderson Memorial Baptist Church.
Ms. Parks is survived by four sons: Ronald Parks of Fitzgerald, Donald Parks, Jr. of Fitzgerald, Robert L. Parks of Ellabelle and Russell Parks of Miracle, Kentucky; one brother, Paul Edward Johnson of Tifton; 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
