In Taunton, July 29, 2019, Carol A. McGowan, age 78, passed away peacefully following a brief illness in Morton Hospital. Carol was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late John E. & Eva (Morin) McGowan and her late brother John “Jackie” McGowan. Carol resided all her life in Taunton and attended Taunton schools. She was employed at the former Swank Company in Taunton as an inspector. She volunteered at Pennies from Heaven St. Vincent in Taunton and St. Mary’s Church Women’s Guild where she was a very active member. Carol enjoyed photography, crafts, loved her dog Molly, gardening, spending time with her family, especially during all the holiday visits, and spending time with her very dear friend Flo. Carol is survived by her cousins; William R. White of Taunton, Christine Nazzaro of South Weymouth, Robin White of South Easton, William R. White Jr. of Warwick, RI, Susan Lanahan of FL, Jennifer Rego of Taunton, Eugene Nazzaro, Stephanie White, Johnathan Rego, Andrew Rego, Victoria Rego, Eric Rego, Jessica Lanahan, Katie Lanahan, Tara Lanahan and Michael Lanahan. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Saturday, August 3rd from 9:30-10:30am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church in Taunton at 11am. Burial will be in the family lot in St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton.
