Obituary

LEICESTER: Norman A. Cormier,85, of 145 Rawson St., died suddenly Saturday,
Jan. 14 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester after being stricken ill at
home.
He leaves his wife of 63 years Reita B. (Coy) Cormier, two sons Brian P. and
his wife Carole Cormier of Leicester, Bruce A. Cormier of Leominster, a
sister Vivian Lacquerre of Worcester, two grand children Derek and Danielle
Cormier. He is predeceased by a brother Archille Cormier.
Mr. Cormier was a supervisor at David Clark Co. in Worcester before retiring
in 1983. He was born in Leicester, the son of Victor and Emma (Girouard)
Cormier.
He graduated from Leicester High School and later attended W.P.I. and Clark
University. He was a former scout master and became involved with the
Leicester Little League, member of the Leicester Knights of Columbus Council
# 4528 and past Grand Knight. An Army Veteran of WWII, he was a member of
the VFW Post 7556 in Rochdale. While serving in the War, he spent time in a
foxhole with former war correspondent Ernie Pyle and was later mentioned in
his book "Brave Men". He was a member of St. Pius X Church.
The funeral will be held on Monday, Jan. 16 from the MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL
HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church,
1153 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial
Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Sunday, Jan. 15 from 4 to 7 p.m.
