Jose P. Branco, 89, died Saturday at the BayPointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brockton. He was the husband of 62 years of Maria L. (Pinheiro) Branco. Born in Faial, Azores, Portugal, he was educated in the Azores and moved to the US in 1966, settling in Stoughton. Mr. Branco worked as an assembler for Ark-Les Switch in Stoughton for many years. He was a member of Clube Luis de Camoes and the St. John Filaharmonic Society both in Stoughton. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening and playing cards.
In addition to his wife Maria L. (Pinheiro) Branco, he leaves his 2 sons, Manuel H. and Jose N. both of Stoughton. He was the father of the late Miguel P. Branco. Mr. Branco was the brother of the late Manuel Sousa and is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, January 18 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday 5-8 PM. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
