Cynthia (Caton) Kenworthy, 94, of Fairhaven, MA passed away peacefully surrounded by family Monday, July 22, 2019.
Born on April 2, 1925 in New Bedford, MA, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Lawrence W. Caton Sr. and Amelia (Viera) Caton. She was predeceased by her brother, Lawrence W. Caton Jr., and her sister, Dr. Amelia W. Caton.
Cynthia was formerly employed by the City of New Bedford and retired from NStar/Commonwealth Electric. She assisted with her grandchildren in their early years, and she enjoyed traveling and ballroom dancing as many as three days per week in retirement with her companion, the late James F. McGlynn.
She is survived by two daughters, Catherine Perry of Berkley, with her husband, David, and Carol Langlois of New Bedford with her husband, Patrick. She is also survived by two sons, Robert Kenworthy of Fairhaven with his wife, Jacqueline and Richard Kenworthy of Altoona, PA with his wife Diana. Survivors include six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The family sincerely appreciates the exceptional care given to our beloved mother by the staff at Our Lady’s Haven.
A private graveside memorial will be held with children. Viewing hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers we ask the donor to do a random act of kindness as Cynthia would have done.
