Obituary

On Thursday July 18th, Carolyn Pereira, known as ‘Ammie’ to her family, passed away peacefully.

She was born in 1936 to the late Joseph C. Patrick and Lillian B. Patrick. A Provincetown native, she married her Tremont Street childhood sweetheart, the late Richard D. Pereira, in 1956. For many years they lived and raised their family in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. As the family grew, they moved back to Provincetown which was where she always felt she belonged.

Carolyn worked for many years at Adams Pharmacy, a job she loved. After retiring she went on to do volunteer work at the Provincetown Methodist Church Thrift Shop, as well as, the Provincetown Swap Shop.

It brought her great joy to always be feeding others whether it be bringing plates of goodies to neighbors or a dining room full of local kids. Stop and Shop was her favorite store! Halloween was a very special time for her when she opened her Nelson Avenue home to trick or treaters. It was an event she looked forward to all year.

Carolyn is survived by her children; Kim and her husband Mark of Cummaquid, Dicky of Arizona, and Dodie and her partner John of Provincetown; four grandchildren; Melissa, Justin, Kurt and Kortney; five great-grandchildren; Ava, Dylan, Liam, Clara, and Evalyn; and two sisters Paula Noons and Melba Patrick.

It was Carolyn’s wishes that there be no service and the burial will be private. If you would like to honor her memory please donate something to the Provincetown Swap Shop.
