Acushnet – Dorothy Eva (Blacow) Hallett, 84, of N. Dartmouth died after a brief illness on January 12, 2006 at her son’s home surrounded by her family. She was the widow of William B. Hallett, Sr.; they were married for 58 years.
Mrs. Hallett was born in N. Dartmouth, daughter of the late Richard and Martha (Sharrett) Blacow, and was a lifelong resident of the town. She was a graduate of Dartmouth High School, class of 1939. She was a charter member of the Dartmouth Baptist Church. She was employed as a secretary by the U.S. Federal Government in various agencies and later by the Town of Dartmouth. She and her husband retired in 1977 after which they traveled and camped around the United States. She enjoyed crocheting and gardening.
Survivors include 2 sons: William B. Hallett, Jr. and his wife Hope E. of Dartmouth and James R. Hallett and his wife Susan J. of Acushnet; a brother: James Blacow of Dartmouth; 5 granddaughters; 2 great-granddaughters; and several nieces & nephews.

Funeral service on Saturday, January 14, 2006 at 9:30 A.M. at the KIRBY FUNERAL HOME, 61 Tarkiln Hill Road, New Bedford.

Interment in Acushnet Cemetery, Acushnet.
