Ralph J. DeMeo Jr.,72,of Norton died unexpectedly on Tuesday January 10,2006. He was the beloved husband of the late Diana M. (LaFerrara) DeMeo who died on January 15,2003 and whom he was wed to on May 19,1957.
Born in Boston,MA on March 22,1933 he was a loving son of the late Ralph J. and Frances (Vento) DeMeo Sr.
Ralph was educated in East Boston Schools. He served in The United States Navy during The Korean Conflict. He was a retired letter carrier having worked for The U.S. Postal Service in it’s South Boston Annex from 1966-1991.
He was a communicant of St.Marys Church in Norton and a former communicant of St. Anthonys Cchurch in Boston. He was a member of St. anthonys club in the North End of Boston. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He enjoyed being with his family. He had made his home in Norton for the past 17 years and was formerly of Roslindale and The North End.
He is survived by his devoted children Frances Ward and her husband Ron of Norton and Ralph J. DeMeo of Norton. His loving grandchildren Danielle, Ronald, Kerri and Krystle. His cherished great -granddaughter Kayla. His dear brothers Ceasare “Sonny” DeMeo of Rockland, Richard DeMeo of east Boston and Florida, Dennis DeMeo of Chelsea and the late Nicholas DeMeo. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
His funeral,to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend will be held on Tuesday January 17th at 9:00 A.M from The Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp st.(Off Route 140,Taunton Ave.) Norton followed by a mass of christian burial celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in St. Marys church,South Worcester St.,Norton. Burial will follow in The Massachusetts National Cemetery,Bourne at 12:30 P.M.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday January 16th from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers,Ralph’s family has requested that donations be made in his memory to The American Heart Association 20 Speen St. Framingham,MA 01701-4688.
