Alfred N. Furlong, Jr. 71 years of Brockton died Monday at Regent Park Manor after a lengthy illness. He was born in New York a son of the late Alfred N. Furlong, Sr. and E. Helen (Creeden) Furlong. He was raised and educated in Brockton and was a graduate of Brockton High School where he played football and ran track. Mr. Furlong had enlisted in the US Marine Corps. He had been a self employed house painter and wallpaper hanger.
He loved watching all sports.
He is survived by a son Patrick Wainwright of Brockton and a sister and two brothers Joan Pitaro, Richard and Edward Furlong
Graveside Services will be held Thursday at 11 am in Melrose Cemetery.
