Celebrating The Life And Memory Of:

Mrs. Jennifer L. Thompson-Benders

July 10, 1971 - June 15, 2019

The Love of our life, Jennifer L. Thompson-Benders transitioned from this life on June 15, 2019.The wife of Harold Benders, mother of Quueneke and Phoenix Thompson, Grandmother of Amil Amore Thompson-Otis, Soleil L. Thompson-Brown, Sister Brandy Thompson, her two nieces Lennasia Dixon and Lennaya Dixon. Daughter of the late Raymond “Hurkey” Grant and Patricia Thompson, Grand-daughter of Barbara Clement, and brother Edward” Eddie” Paul Thompson.

She was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and loving friend. Jennifer graduated from Boston Public Schools, and attended University of Massachusetts. She worked in the Healthcare field working in many of Boston area hospitals. She also owned her own jewelry business “Phoenix Rising”, where she created and shared her love for jewelry making.

Jennifer had a zest for life, and was devoted to family and friends. She always had and encouraging, kind word or smile for anyone. Always lending a helping hand and never turning anyone away; her loving kindness, generosity was only some of the facets of her personality. Her light touched anyone who had the pleasure to meet and love her. Jen loved good food and to cook, (every time she cooked, she had fork down your throat to taste test, before you could even protest), she loved family gatherings, music, she was Prince’s number 1 fan! You could catch Jen breaking out in song at any given moment. She also had a love for scary movies and was an avid reader of books. Jen was a homebody who enjoyed her family and friends. Jen will forever be missed but never forgotten.

Jennifer leaves to mourn Denise Thompson (deceased Aunt), Denise “Nita” Thompson (cousin), Tanisha Clady (sister & best friend), Valdez Crocket and a host of siblings, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

To my Family and Friends:

I’m free.

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free. I’m following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard him call. I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way; I found peace at close of day. If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joys. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, ah yes these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life’s been full, I savored much. Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief; don’t lengthen it now with undo grief. Lift up your heart and peace to thee. God wanted me now, he has set me free. I love you all.
