Obituary

WINCHENDON ~ Frank B. Perry, Jr., 77, a longtime resident of East Longmeadow and currently a resident of Winchendon, Massachusetts, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, June 20, 2019. He passed into Eternal Life at Vibra Hospital of Western Massachusetts Central Campus in Leicester, Massachusetts with his loving granddaughter, Shayla, by his side. He was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts on September 29, 1941, a beloved son of the late Frank B. Perry and Mary (Fitton) Perry. He was raised in New Bedford and had lived in Connecticut and East Longmeadow before moving to Winchendon in December of 2017. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and attained the rank of Corporal. He later served in the Air National Guard in Connecticut and was activated for service in Panama. He was last employed as a Quality Control Inspector at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford, CT. He was a longtime communicant of Saint Michael Church in East Longmeadow. Frank enjoyed dancing, playing the guitar and was a master engraver of glass and wood plaques which he made for his family and his many friends. He was a bird enthusiast and raised and cared for many parrots at his home. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and his many friends. He leaves his beloved wife and soul mate, Joyce E. (Rouleau) Tota Perry. They were married on March 29, 1997 at the Wistariahurst Museum in Holyoke and were blessed with over 22 years of happiness together. He also leaves his four loving children, Julie A. Perry-Rule of Tolland, CT, Frank B. Perry VI and his wife, Sarah, of Columbia, CT, Yvonne L. Tota of Chicopee, and Tanya M. Ruel and her husband, Timothy, of Springfield; his loving son-in-law, David Zielinski of Coventry, CT; his eight cherished grandchildren, Ashlyn Zielinski, Terry Hensel, Jr., Shayla Hensel, Mariana Rule, Dalton Rule, Vanessa Perry, Frank B. Perry VII, and Tessa R. Ruel; his cherished great-grandson, Emrick Hubbard; his dear sister-in-law, Sylvia L. Martin of Abbeville, SC; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Perry, Tota and Rouleau families. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his beloved daughter, Mary A. Zielinski; and his dear brother-in-law, Norman Rouleau. His family will receive friends at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107 on Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. followed by at 12:30 p.m. Prayer Service. His Committal Service with United States Marine Corps Military Honors will follow the Prayer Service at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001.
