Nina Blanche (Heisler) Chant, 98, a resident of Newton since 1943, died Mon Jan 2, 2006 at Evans Park in Newton Corner.
Mrs. Chant was born in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia and came to the US as a young woman as a nurse at McLean Hospital in Belmont and later worked as a stenographer for the Canadian National Railway. She married John Sawyer Chant and they resided in Newton. She was a longtime faithful communicant of Grace Episcopal Church in Newton.
She was the wife of the late John Sawyer Chant, daughter of the late James C. and Blanche E. (Whyontt) Heisler and sister of the late Earl Heisler. She is survived by her nephews, Robert G. Blue and his wife Nancy and George W. Johnson and his wife Eleanor all of Rockport, a niece Clarissa G. Allen of Newton and 4 grandnephews, Christopher R. Blue and his partner Karen Martakos of Arlington, Eric D. Johnson and his wife Louisa Casadel-Johnson of Rockport, Douglas Johnson and his wife Charlene of Arvada CO, and Roger Allen of Newton.
A funeral service was held on Fri Jan 6, 2006 in the Grace Episcopal Church in Newton Corner. Interment followed at Newton Cemetery.
