Obituary

William R. Walder 77, of Franklin, died peacefully, Friday June 14, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton, following an illness. He was the former husband of Carol A. (Karczmit) Walder of Franklin.

Born November 2, 1941 in Paterson, New Jersey, a son of the late Frederick W. and Gladys (Bennett) Walder, he was a resident of Franklin, since 1990.

He was raised and educated in New Jersey and worked as a sales representative for Hobart Commercial Kitchen Division, until retiring.

A proud American, he served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in May 1967.

William enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing, football, golf and tennis. He was also a member of the Franklin Rod and Gun Club.

He is survived by 3 daughters’, Christina J. Spalla of Franklin, Tracy L. Fletcher and her husband Matthew of Wrentham, Tara A. Lima and her husband Patrick of Cumberland and a sister Janis Webster of Wayne, NJ.

Also surviving are his cherished granddaughters, Alexa, Brooke and Sofie.

William’s funeral service and interment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne will be held privately.
