Joan S. (Deyette) Heidelbach, 80, died Friday, January 6, at the New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton. She was the wife of 35 years of Frank S. Heidelbach. Born in Northampton, MA, she attended Northampton Schools and was a graduate of Mary A. Burnham School and UMass Amherst. She received her Masters Degree in Education from Boston University. Mrs. Heidelbach also did coursework at both New York University and Middlebury College in VT. She had been a resident of Westwood for the past 3 years, previously living in Peachtree City, GA and Paget, Bermuda. Many years ago, she was a teacher in Cambridge, Waltham and Yonkers, NY. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting, tennis and bridge.
In addition to her husband Frank, she is survived by her son Jeffrey A. Gadboys and his wife Pamela of FL and her daughter, Pamela G. Layton and her husband John R. of Westwood. She was the grandmother of Carolyn and Erin Gadboys, Margo, Alex and Sophie Layton.
Memorial Services will be held at Fox Hill Village, 10 Longwood Drive, Westwood on Sunday, January 15 at 3 PM. Donations in Joan’s name may be made to the First Methodist Church, 208 Willowbend Rd., Peachtree City, GA 30269. Burial will be private.
