Marjorie (Pilkington) Mendes, 88, of Fairhaven, formerly of New Bedford, died Friday June 14, 2019 at Our Lady's Haven after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Victor Mendes.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Thomas and Priscilla (Harrop) Pilkington, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
Mrs. Mendes was formerly employed by Rodney Metals many years ago.
She enjoyed dancing.
Survivors include her son, Curtis Mendes and his wife Martha of Mattapoisett; three grandchildren, Kaitlin Mendes, Nicole Mendes, and Tess Washburn; and a great-granddaughter, Madison Adele Marvell.
Her Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 9:30 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home For Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6) Mattapoisett. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marjorie's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
