Obituary

Cornish - Lois E. Davis, 92, of Cornish died on June 11, 2019 at the Barron Center in Portland after a long illness. She was born in Cornish on December 16, 1927 a daughter of Harry and Georgia (Wilcox) Pendexter and was educated in Cornish schools.

Lois worked at Wild Acres Turkey Farm in Steep Falls for many years. She later worked many more years at the Cornish Dress Shop from where she retired.

Lois used to enjoy camping with family and friends and always attended Cornish Schools Alumni dinners. She loved weekly restaurant trips with Gustie and other friends, and appreciated her wonderful neighbors with veggies and various help when she needed it. She was always a very good cook, enjoyed doing many crafts over the years, and was an avid New York Yankees fan. She will be sadly missed by her loving family and all who knew her.

The family would like to thank the Barron Center and Nothern Light Hospice for the wonderful care she received. She loved you all.

She is predeceased by her husband, Brad Davis, and her siblings: Edna Parker, Donald Pendexter, Stella Pendexter and Morris Pendexter. Surviving are her daughter, Roxie Drowns and husband Leonard of Porter. Her sister, Doris Larlee of Meredith, NH. Her grandson, Charles Drowns and wife Sue of Gorham. Great grandchildren: Morgan Drowns and significant other Erik Lehouillier, Blake Drowns and Carly Drowns. Also many loving nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be on Saturday, June 22, at 11 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery in Cornish. A celebration of life will follow at the Greenleaf Masonic Lodge in Cornish. Arrangements by Poitras, Neal & York Funeral Home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.mainefuneral.com.
