Obituary

Carol A. (Feldon) Burke, 64 of Tucker Rd., died Sunday, June 30, 2002 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth after a long illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was the much loved and devoted wife of William Kenneth "Ken" Burke, they were married 45 years.

Born in New Bedford the daughter of the late John and Esther (Leigh) Feldon, she was raised in New Bedford's south end and resided in Dartmouth since 1969.

She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in South Dartmouth, where she was actively involved for several years in the church's annual Country Fair.

Mrs. Burke was formerly employed for several years as a Realtor by Gardner Realty.She was an avid shell collector, especially loved collecting shells on Sanibel Island, Fl and enjoyed many arts and crafts activities.

The family is deeply indebted for the loving care Mrs. Burke received from the staff of Brandon Woods of Dartmouth, the Dartmouth Council on Aging's Social Day Program and the services of the Dartmouth Visiting Nurses Association, as well as the love and care of many family friends over the past few years of Mrs. Burke's long illness.

She is survived by her husband William K. Burke of Dartmouth, 3 sons, Daniel J. Burke and James K. Burke of Dartmouth, John M. Burke and his wife Kayla of Jacksonville, FL, one daughter, Ann Marie Richard and her husband Michael of Plymouth, MA, 3 cousins, Mildred Brogden of Acushnet, Shirley Howell of Dartmouth and Esther Stots of Toronto, Canada, 5 grandchildren, Erin M. Burke of Westerly, RI, Matthew and Kyle Burke of Jacksonville, FL and Lauren and Alyssa Richard of Plymouth, MA and several neices and nephews.

Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordWednesday, July 3rd at 10 AM.Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, Dartmouth at 11 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Visiting hours Tuesday, July 2nd from 3-7 PM.

Interment private.
