Obituary

Thomas J. Connor, 96, of Village Drive, Smithfield, died Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Hopkins Manor in North Providence. He was the husband of the late Rita I. (Shaw) Connor.

Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of Edward and Evelyn (Sweeney) Connor. He had worked for Shaw’s Trucking in Pawtucket for many years. Thomas was a member of Teamsters Local #251. He served in the US Navy. He along with his wife Rita ran an antique retail shop called The Chatterbox in Greenville. After his retirement Tom worked at the Anderson-Winfield Home for over 20 years. Tom loved spending time in Jamestown and also enjoyed an occasional trip to Twin River in Lincoln.

He is survived by his children: Eileen Adler and her husband, Michael of Smithfield, Thomas J. Connor, Jr. of Manhattan Beach, California, Timothy F. Connor of Pawtucket, David P. Connor of Cranston, Jean A. Connor of Nantucket as well as his grandchildren, Isabelle, Kerri, Charlie, Sean, Caitlyn, Rachel, Kelsi, Skyler, Declan, Finn and Cormac and his great grandchildren, Connor, Kennedy, Jameson, Jaxon, and Cassius. He was predeceased by his daughter, Mary Micheletti, as well as his siblings, Dorothy Gunn, Mildred Perrin, and Edward, Raymond, Mildred, Evelyn, Mae, Gladys and Alice Connor.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial will be in Highland Park, Johnston. Visitation respectfully omitted.
