Obituary

CHICOPEE ~ Rita A. (Cloutier) Kustra, 94, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, June 2, 2019. She passed into Eternal Life at her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Weedon, Province of Quebec, Canada on March 19, 1925, a beloved daughter of the late Arthur J. and Marie Rose (Gagnon) Cloutier and had lived in Aldenville since 1943. She had worked at the former W. T. Grant Company and later worked as a store manager for the Lyman Mills Rag Shop in Chicopee. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Adolph S. Kustra who was Called Home on March 10, 2009. They were married on January 2, 1943 at Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee and were blessed with over 66 years of happiness together. She leaves her loving daughter and caregiver, Patricia A. Kustra of Chicopee; her son, Lawrence J. Kustra and his wife, Ellen, of Myrtle Beach, SC; her seven grandchildren, Kristen Christopher and her husband, Peter, Matthew Peetz, Cheryl Reilly and her husband, Patrick, Robert Kustra and his wife, Tricia, Laurie Labrie and her husband, Daniel, Darlene Coolong and her husband, Michael, and Stefanie Kustra; her nine great-grandchildren, Emma and Lily Christopher, Myles Peetz, Hannah and Gabriel Reilly, Scott Kustra, Darrick Kustra, Rachel Labrie and Lacy Coolong; her great-great granddaughter, Adriana Reilly; her brother, Roland Cloutier of Chicopee; her two dear sisters, Jeanne Lafleur and Noella Gaydos, both of Chicopee; and her many nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Kustra and Cloutier families. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her son, Stanley A. Kustra; her three brothers, Napoleon Cloutier, Albert “Tux” Cloutier and Raymond Cloutier; and her sister, Simone Mathews St. James. Her Funeral will be held on Monday, June 10, 2019 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 (funeral home will open at 10:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, June 9, 2019 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
