Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday at 8am. Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9am, burial in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Visiting Hours Thursday 3-7pm. Henry E. Rabs, Jr., 71 years, formerly of Brockton, died Friday at the Medical Center at Hilton Head, SC after a brief illness. Born and raised in Boston, he was the son of the late Henry E. and Margaret (Gouthro) Rabs, and husband of the late Marie (Porro) Rabs. He was a graduate of Boston Technical High School, Class of 1952, and was enlisted in the United States Marine Corps for eight years. He had been a resident of Brockton for over 30 years where he had been active in the Boy Scouts and was Past President of Brockton South Little League and had been employed by the Polaroid Corporation retiring after 29 years. Following his retirement he had resided in Tulsa, OK for several years and was currently living in Sun City Hilton Head, Bluffton, SC. Henry enjoyed fishing, traveling, American history and playing cards.
He is survived by his children Deborah Erickson of Carver, Ellen Nantz of Canyon Country, CA, Michael Rabs of Palm Coast, FL, Richard Rabs and of Arlington Heights, IL and David Rabs of Woodbridge, VA, one brother Paul Rabs of Mendon and one sister Joanne Dana of Pembroke, 10 grandchildren and 24 nieces and nephews.
