Pleamon Golden, 85, of Lenox, died Saturday, January 7, 2006 at his residence after a short illness. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at Union Grove Church of God in Eldorado. The Rev. Ray Dawson, Rev. Billy M. Dawson and Rev. Tommy Dorman will officiate with burial to follow in Oakridge Cemetery. Johnny Ray Eaton, Chad Whitley Golden, Bobby Drawdy, Ted Golden, Thomas C. Rutland, Wayne Sumner and Terrell Rutland will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Moore, Willie Moore, Randall Stone, Bill Turnmire, Danny Crumley, Jerry Crumley, Jackie Crumley, Mark Peele, Ray Peele, Melvin Hill, Lindsey Hill, Wayne Hill and Dickie Robinson.
Mr. Golden was born on March 25, 1920 in Berrien County and was the son of Walter James Golden and Mattie Gray Golden, both deceased. He was a retired farmer and a veteran. Mr. Golden was also preceded in death by his wife, Katie Sumner Golden, who died in 1965. Mr. Golden attended Union Grove Church of God and had lived in Tift County for 55 years.
He is survived by two sons, Lance P. Golden and Jason W. Golden, both of Tifton; a daughter, Eudine Golden Hill of Tifton; two brothers, W.L. Golden of Lenox and Albert Sumner of Tifton; two sisters, Laura Golden and Ruby Harris, both of Nashville; two grandchildren and their spouses, Shane and Gina Hill and Katianne and Chad Robinson; and five great grandchildren, Hallie Anne Robinson, Heidi Karoline Robinson and Noah Shane Hill, Seth Thomas Hill and Sarah Grace Hill.
