Nickie B. (Kalife) Pelczar, 74, of Fairhaven died May 28, 2019 after a long illness.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late John J. and Sophie (Chudzik) Kalife, she lived in Mattapoisett and Fairhaven most of her life.
She was formerly employed as a special needs teacher in Mattapoisett, was head of financial aid at Swain School of Design in New Bedford before retiring as executive assistant from Kopin Corporation.
She was a graduate of New Bedford High School, class of 1961 and Dean Junior College.
She enjoyed bowling, playing bridge, shopping, gardening and travel.
Survivors include her daughter, Stefanie B. Mansfield-Palmerino and her husband Nicholas of Hingham; her son, Joseph J. Pelczar of Fairhaven; her beloved grandson, Ty P. Mansfield; a brother, James J. Kalife of Fairhaven; 3 sisters, Patricia B. Fowle and Marjorie B. Meredith, both of Fairhaven and Jane B. Paul of New Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, June 1st at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by the Divine Liturgy in Our Lady of Purgatory Maronite Catholic Church at 9 AM. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Fairhaven. Visiting hours will be on Friday, May 31st from 4-7 PM.
