Obituary

Michael D. Aldridge 69, of Norwood, died unexpectedly, Memorial Day, Monday May 27, 2019 at his home.

Born August 10, 1949, in Brownsville, PA, a son of the late Clarence D. and Doris V. (Brashear) Aldridge, he was a former resident of Norfolk and Westwood, before settling in Norwood.

He was raised and educated in the Dorchester section of Boston, was a graduate of Boston English High School and was a graduate of Northeastern University.

Michael was a retired accountant, having worked for Massachusetts Eye & Ear.

A proud American, he joined the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, he attained the rank of RM2 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device, the Vietnam Armed Forces Meritorious Unit Citation and the Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon. He was honorably discharged in February 1971.

Michael enjoyed the simple things in life, a good meal out at a restaurant, dancing, traveling, and watching television.

He is survived by a sister, Terri Moore and her husband Louis of Norfolk, a nephew Kenny Naumes, nieces, Lauren & Amanda Moore and a great niece and nephew Ayden and Rylie.

A private funeral service was held Friday May 31st, at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.

Interment with Navy Funeral Honors followed.
