Lidia Teles, 51, of New Bedford passed away at home on Wednesday May 22, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of John C. Raposo.
Born in Agua de Pau, Sao Miguel, Açores, the daughter of Lidia Maria Sousa and Jose Teles, she immigrated to New Bedford in 1993, establishing herself and family in the area.
Lidia was employed at the Brahmin Leather Works in Fairhaven for over 10 years. She also operated an online jewelry show as a hobby.
She enjoyed dancing, camping, traveling to new places, and spending time with her family. She loved the Lord and would read the Bible to her mother every single day.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by three children, Christina Pacheco and her husband Michael Medeiros, Fabio Pacheco, and Brian Pacheco; her siblings, Bibiana Botelho and her husband Manuel, Nelia Teles and her husband Mohammad Iqbal, Jose Teles and his wife Sue, and Marco Teles; her grandchildren, Nicalos Pacheco, whom she raised with her husband, Javon Pacheco, Maya Medeiros, and Jordon Pacheco; and many nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral will be held on Saturday May 25, 2019 at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Service at the Evangelical Church of the Nations, 129 Hathaway Boulevard, New Bedford at 9 AM. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Friday May 24, 2019 from 5-8 PM.
