Stephen F. Wride, 59, of Derry, NH died Saturday January 7, 2006 at his home. Mr. Wride was born in Rochester, NY on November 22, 1946 a son of the late Frank and Esther (Quayle) Wride. He had resided in Derry for the past 25 years, formerly living in Batavia and Rochester, NY. Mr. Wride served with the US Army during the Vietnam Era. He received his bachelors degree from R.I.T. in Rochester, NY and later received his masters degree from Fredonia State University of New York. He had worked as a math instructor at Merrimack College, Merrimack, MA and for Batavia Community College in Batavia, NY. He retired from Digital Corp. in Merrimack, NH and Andover, MA. Mr. Wride had been employed more recently as a part time mail carrier for the US Postal Service in Derry.
He is survived by his wife, Kazuko (Jashiki) Wride of Derry, his son, Mark F. Wride of Manchester, NH, two sisters, Beverly Jean Walker of Coxsackie, NY, Barbara Jane Thompkins of Nokomis, FL, also several aunts and uncles.
Calling hours were held on Tuesday January 10th from 6 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A funeral service began at 8:00pm in the funeral home. Following cremation, private burial will follow in the Spring.
