Obituary

Vincent James Archetto, 88, of West Warwick, formerly of Johnston, died Saturday, May 18, 2019 at West View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Warwick. He was the husband of Marie (Terrano ) Archetto and the late Virginia (Degidio) Archetto.
Born in Cranston, he was a son of the late Domenic A. and Caroline (Lanni) Archetto. He recently returned to West Warwick, Rhode Island from Greenacres, Florida. Before moving to Florida, he lived most of his life in Johnston where he raised his children.
He proudly served in the US Marines from 1950-1952. He was a combat veteran during the Korean War in the Infantry. He was aboard the Honors Flight in September 2018. After his discharge from the Marines, he attended Rhode Island School of Design where he learned his trade, Tool Designer. He had worked as a Tool Designer for Monet Jewelry Manufacturing until his retirement in 1995.
He enjoyed his time with his family, sailing and dancing. He was a kind and charitable man and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was a member and Past Grand Knight of the Feeney Council, Knights of Columbus.
Besides his wife of thirteen years, Marie, he is survived by his children: James Archetto and his wife, Tiffany (Lori) of Norton, MA, Stephanie Champlin and her husband, Blake of Narragansett, Paul Archetto and his wife, Debra of Scituate, his grandchildren: Ted, Peter, Mitchell, Victoria, Cassie, Matthew, Marissa, Sarah, Samantha and Nicholas and his great granddaughter, Mina, his sister, Alice Capuano and her husband, Anthony of Johnston and his stepchildren: Michael Terrano and his wife, Karen of Jacksonville, FL and Joanne Valente and her husband, Anthony of Cranston, RI. He was the brother of the late Maria “Etta”, Philip, Frank, Alfred and Michael Archetto.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 9am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Joseph Church, 144 Danielson Pike, Scituate. Burial with Military Honors will be in RI Veteran’s Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation Wednesday 5-7pm.
