Freda (Molen) Waterman, 77 of New Bedford died May 12, 2019 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Boston, daughter of the late David and Rose (Sigal) Molen, she was raised in Brockton and raised her family in Somerset before moving to New Bedford.
She was a member of the Swansea Lioness Club serving as Treasurer and President. She also participated in AKC competitions with her dog Toto.
She enjoyed her life in New Bedford from the changing seasons and the leaves turning color to the culinary specialties such as baked stuffed lobster and clam boils.
Survivors include her 3 children, Sheryl McGrath and her companion Joe Grimes of Phoenix, AZ, John Waterman and his wife Allison Herman of St. Pete Beach, FL and Rachel Waterman and her husband Yure Alencar of Florianopolis, Brazil; and 3 grandchildren Chelsea McGrath, Avi and Liliana Waterman de Alencar.
Her Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 25th at 1 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Her family will receive guests from 12 Noon to 1 PM prior to her service in the funeral home.
