Gerald M. Demers 77, 120 King St. Blackstone died Thursday in Milford Hospital. He was the husband of Ella (Johnson) Demers. Mr. Demers was born in Woonsocket, a son of the late George and Melinda (Lamothe) Demers. He was a precision inspector for Northrup Corp in Norwood for twenty years before retiring in 1991.
He was an avid fisherman and a member of the Tri County Bass Masters Organization. He was a devoted husband and loving father and will be deeply missed.
Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Gerald and Ronald Demers both of Blackstone, one daughter, Elaine Mucciarone of Franklin, ten grandchildren, and three great grandchildren, and one sister Pauline Messier of Raynham MA. He was also the father of the late John and Richard Demers, and a brother of the late Florette Girard.
His funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home 99 Cumberland St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 in All Saints Church, Rathbun St. Woonsocket. A committal service will be held in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery Chapel. Burial will be held in Precious Blood Cemetery. Visiting hours are Sunday 4-7 pm.
