Obituary

Mrs. Halina E. (Kosek) Torlinska - Hania, a resident of Lawrence and beloved wife of Jerzy Torlinski, passed away at the Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, following a brave fight with cancer. She was 65 years old.

Born in Gdansk, Poland, she was the beloved daughter of the late Henryk and Janina (Nowicka) Kosek. She came to the United States in 2003 to be with her children. Hania always said that her children were her life and she cherished every moment with them. She loved her role as Babcia and she was very excited about her son Marek and his wife Agata expecting twins this summer.

Mrs. Torlinska was employed as an Assembler for Vicor, a job that she truly loved. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She made friends everywhere she went and her sense of humor was contagious.

Off all the things she did in life, nothing compared to being with her family. Halina loved holidays and family get- togethers. Any chance to spend time with her family was important to her, especially Christmas. She would spend hours making hundreds of pierogies to make sure everybody could have some leftovers!

She was known for her zest for life, her feisty spirit and her great sense of humor. She also loved to travel, listen to music and dance. Halina loved people and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Besides her beloved husband, Jerzy, she is survived by her loving children; Sylvia J. and her husband Andrew K. Soroka of Derry, New Hampshire, Marek and his wife Agata Torlinski of Amesbury and Piotr Torlinski of Lawrence, siblings; Danuta Panko and Zbyszek Kosek, both of Poland, grandsons; Alex and Max Soroka and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Janusz Kosek. She will be missed by all that knew her and loved her.
