Michael V. "Mike" Petrone, of Stoneham, formerly a longtime resident of Medford, passed away on Monday, May 13th. He was 79. Born in Naples, Italy, he was the cherished son of the late Mario and Adelina (DePietro) Petrone.
Mike attended culinary school and focused his career on being a baker professionally and at home. He was the best baker pouring his heart and soul into every one of his confectionary masterpieces. Baking made him happy. He enjoyed watching his family indulge in his homemade cookies, pastries, Italian bread or his famous heavily saturated rum cake with homemade whip cream and nuts.

A natural people person, he was always willing to lend a hand wherever and whenever anyone needed it, whether it was help to build something or tearing it down, Mike was there to help.
Michael was the beloved husband of Helen L. (Melusky) Petrone. He was the devoted father of Michael V. Petrone, Jr. of Seattle, WA, Lisa M. Petrone O'Brien of Medford, Christopher Davidson and his wife Tina of North Reading, the late Ronald E. Petrone and his late wife Lisa Palermo Petrone, Charles Davidson and his surviving wife Jennifer of Malden. He was the loving grandfather of Nicholas, Krista, Brendan, Anthony, Christopher, Emma and Juliana.
