Genevieve M. (Galvin) Mooney passed away on May 11, 2019. She was 87 years old.
Genevieve was a lifelong resident of Malden. She attended and graduated from Girls Catholic High School and worked as a senior custodian for the Malden Public Schools for many years.
Genevieve was the Beloved wife of the late Arthur D. Mooney. She was the daughter of the late Dennis and Lillian (Quigley) Galvin. Genevieve was the loving mother of Francis A. Mooney and his wife Stacey of Portland, ME and Kathleen V. (Mooney) Holland and her husband Edward of York, ME. She was the dear sister of Theresa Sasso of Malden and her late husband Carmen, and the late Francis Galvin, Edward Galvin and Lillian Galvin. Genevieve was the cherished grandmother of Beth Gonzalez and her husband Alexy, Dennis Mooney, David Mooney, Michael Mooney and his wife Emi, Carrie Mooney, Hannah Mooney, Emily Mooney, Molly Blumenthal, Tiffany Holland and the late Kimberly Holland. She was the great grandmother of Shelagh, Charlotte, Mia, Jack and Dante. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Thursday May 16th from 8:30am-9:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
