Obituary

Patricia A. "Pat" (Quinn) Farris, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose. She was 96 years of age.

Pat was born in Boston on April 10, 1923, a daughter of the late Stephen Quinn and Anna L. (Cotter) Quinn. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1941. Pat enlisted into the United States Navy on December 2, 1943 and served her country faithfully and with courage during World War II. She was honorably discharged on December 22, 1944 with the rank of V-10 Seaman. Pat worked for over 20 years at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston as a Research Assistant in the Research and Development Department. Following her retirement from Mass. General Hospital, Pat began working as a Store Supervisor at the Constitution Museum Store for over 15 years. She enjoyed playing bingo, listening to classical music, doing crossword puzzles and traveling to Twin Rivers Casino. Pat's most enjoyment in her life was the quality time she was able to spend with her children, grandchildren and extended family. She was a member of the Charlestown American Legion Post # 26, Irish Heritage Society and National Women's Legionnaires Society and Board Member of Abraham Lincoln Post # 11 of Charlestown.

Pat is the beloved wife of the late Myles E. Farris. She is the devoted mother of Edward "Buddy" Farris and his wife Dorothy, Michael Farris, James "Porky" Farris and his late wife Maureen, Patricia Gould and her husband Eugene and the late Daniel Farris and John "Jay" Farris. She is the loving Nana to Edward "Buddy" Farris Jr. and his wife Jennifer, Ryan Farris, Patrik Farris, Kimberly Farris, Shane Farris and her many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of Stephen Quinn and the late Alice Evers, Mary Devlin, Nelson "Butchy" Quinn, Clara Roland and John Quinn. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Pat's visiting hours on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 from 4 to 8 P.M. with her Funeral Service at 7:30 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Her burial is private.
