Obituary

Haynes, Frederick D. of Natick and Chatham, formerly of Wellesley died peacefully at home on May 8th in the presence of his family. He was the beloved husband of Sara (Welch) Haynes for 57 years and the devoted father of Steven J. Haynes of Norfolk (Wendi), Katherine H. Lyons of Medfield (Kevin), Susan H. Kehoe (Christopher), Paula M. Haynes of Medfield (Sean Cleary). He will be sadly missed by his ten grandchildren whom he treasured - Meghan and David Haynes, Matthew, John and Katherine Lyons, Meredith, Emily, and Christopher Kehoe, and Allyson and Ryan Tierney.

Fred was born in West Roxbury in 1939 to James M. Haynes and Anna (Morrissey) he attended the Boston Latin School and Huntington Preparatory in Boston. He went on to graduate from Boston College School of Management in 1961. After completing the ROTC program he served for 3 years in the US Army, stationed in Germany, reaching the rank of Captain. Fred was President of his company, Livingston and Haynes and was still working full time until 6 months ago when he became ill. A long time member of the Wellesley Country Club he served as President from 1998-2000. He was a founding member and treasurer of the original BC Downtown Club, a member of the Bay State Senior Golf Association and the Clover Club of Boston. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle to many and a fair and trusted boss. He was a mentor, a supporter and a "rock" to many in his extended family. He loved life and especially his family, the ocean, the game of golf and the Patriots.

Funeral from by the George F. Doherty Funeral Home, 477 Washington Street, Wellesley on Wednesday, May 15 at 10 am, followed by a funeral Mass at St. Paul Church, Wellesley at 11:00am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours in the funeral home on Tuesday, 4-7pm. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley.
