
Melvin Pridgen, 71, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Regency Hospital in Macon.
Funeral services will be held 4 PM, Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at Arbor Baptist Church in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the sanctuary.
Mr. Pridgen was born July 23, 1947, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late George Earnest & Emmer Lucille Newsome Pridgen. He was a 1965 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. Mr. Pridgen was a floor department production supervisor for Coachmen Industries. He loved watching NASCAR and cheered for Dale Earnhardt and later Dale, Jr. He was an avid pool player and dart shooter. He formerly attended Pine Level Methodist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Dawn Pridgen Smith of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Cole Smith and Gwynnie Pridgen Wynn; and two brothers: James Pridgen of Fitzgerald and Roy Pridgen of Michigan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and nine brothers.
