Dorothy I. (Laplante) Hamel age 68 of Salem, NH, died Thursday at the Holy Family Hospital, Methuen, MA.
She was born in Lawrence, MA, where she grew up and attended schools, and graduated from St. Ann’s High School in 1956. She was a resident of Salem, NH for the past 45 years, formerly of Lawrence, MA.
Mrs. Hamel was a homemaker. She was a member of Mary Queen of Peace Church in Salem, NH. Mrs. Hamel was a huge Elvis fan. She was devoted to her family, enjoyed camping, and collecting nautical items. She baby sat her grandchildren and loved doing crafts, and spending time with them.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years Roland H. Hamel of Salem, NH

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, Jan. 9 at 12 PM at Mary Queen of Peace Church, Salem, NH. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, NH.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, Jan. 8 from 3-7 PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH.
