Obituary

Roger Bodley loved family, friends, country and staying busy with his many interests. An accomplished teacher, master handyman and vegetable gardener he used his vast knowledge of science to engage the world, especially his kids and many grandchildren. He was a strong Christian and active in church throughout his life. Roger loved his country serving in the Marines 4 years active duty and 4 years in the Marine reserves. Roger passed away Tuesday evening at home surrounded by family members.
In his career Roger held positions at Byron Junior High (Shaker Heights, OH), Wollongong Select High School (NSW Australia), Natick High School (Natick, MA) and developed the ITS Initiative (using computers in schools). His notable business endeavors included Flexible Learning Systems and Assemblers Cooperative. Roger’s adventurous life included passions for Hang gliding, Gardening, Traveling, Scuba diving, Sailing and running the Lend a Hand program at church.
Survived by wife of 65 years Joanne, his brother Raymond and wife Rosemary, sister Donna and their four sons, Michael and girlfriend Erin, Kurt and wife Kathy, Keith and wife Cathy, Martin and wife Danielle. Niece Jennifer and husband Rodman. Grandchildren; Kevin and girlfriend Katie, Christian and wife Angela, Matthew, Erin, Sarah, Olivia, Reed, Grace, Luke and Joel. Great grandchildren; Ryker, Logan and Ripley.
A memorial service will be held on Monday May 20th, 11:30am at United Methodist Church in Osterville. Please direct donations to United Methodist Church Osterville.
