Obituary

Lydia Vescera, 97, formerly of Ortoleva Drive, Providence, died Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Elmhurst Extended Care, Providence. She was the widow of Celestino C. Vescera, who died in 1994.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Antoinetta (Ianeri) DiNardi. She lived in Providence for most of her life. In her early years she owned D's Millinery Shop in the Alice Building in downtown Providence. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Domine Ragosta and her husband, Bob of Smithfield, Charles Vescera and his fiance, Patty Scotti of Riverview, Florida, Roselyn Lonardo and her husband, David of Scituate and Edward Vescera and his wife, Jo Ann of Cranston, her grandchildren: Nicole, Kyle, Nicholas, Brandon, Alex, Kate, Gregory, Sophia, Ean and her great-grandchildren: Mara and Cora. She was the sister of the late Edward, Vincent, and Gino DiNardi.
Her Funeral will be held Friday, May 3, 2019 at 9:30am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Joseph Church, 144 Danielson Pike, Scituate. Burialwill follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation 8 to 9:30am. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904
