Walter E. Regan, a life-long Medford resident died at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was 74.
Walter was the son of the late Ralph and the late Bridget (Dwyer) Regan. After graduating high school, Walter served in the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge he began working with Boston Edison Company and rose to be Division Head. Walter was also very active in St. Joseph’s School athletic Department.
He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret J. (Kirby). He was a devoted father to Deborah M. Hurley and her husband Robert of Medford, Michael J. Regan and his wife Sarah of Sandwich, William J. Regan and his wife Kathleen of Medford, Michele E. Maher and her husband Thomas of Woburn, Walter E. Regan, Jr. and his wife Ellen of Medford, Timothy D. Regan and his wife Julie of Medford, Maureen A. Chambers and her husband Richard of Wakefield, Sean P. Regan and his wife Laurie of Plymouth, and James K. Regan of Medford. He was a loving grandfather to 16 Grandchildren. He was the brother of James Dwyer, John G. Regan, Robert Regan, Thomas Regan, the late Ralph Regan, Margorie Sampson and Pauline Horblit.
Walter’s funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford Friday at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family Thursday 3 thru 9. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
