William J. Fleming Jr., a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Monday April 29, 2019 at his daughter's residence in South Weymouth. He was 80 years of age.
William was born in Boston on February 14, 1939, a son of the late William J. Fleming and Ellen (MacIlvaine)Fleming-Wilkins. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated at St. Mary's Parochial School and in the Boston Public School system. William worked as a Machinist at the Domino Sugar Refinary in Charlestown for 15 years and at Whitings Milk Company for 15 years. He enjoyed driving around in his German made cars and drawing. He was a member of The Old Charlestown Schoolboys Association.
William is the beloved husband of the late Josephine Burgio. He is the devoted father of Jean Souther of South Weymouth and the late Denise Duncanson. He is the loving Papa of Kevin Burgio, Derek Duncanson, Stephen Souther, Lauren Souther, and his great-granddaughter Hannah Burgio.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend 's William's Funeral on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 11 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 12 Noon. His burial will be private. His visiting hours will be on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
