Obituary

SUTTON: Raymond Flynn, 88, died peacefully at home with his family by his side on Thursday, April 25, 2019.

He leaves his wife of 61 years, Phyllis (Grigor) Flynn; a son, David J. Flynn and his wife Mary of Douglas; a daughter, Patricia S. Allard and her husband John of Burrillville, RI;
four grandchildren, Matthew J. Allard, Rebecca M. Allard, Daniel W. Flynn, Alex D. Flynn; and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers, William and Paul Flynn, both predeceased him.

He was born and raised in Worcester, son of the late William J. and Rebecca (Foisy) Flynn and was a graduate of South High School. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War and lived in Worcester most of his life before moving to Sutton in 1990.

Ray was a control inspector at Wyman Gordon Company where he worked for 36 years until he retired. He was a long-time member of the American Legion Post No. 318 in Worcester and a regular participant at Sutton Town Meetings.

He enjoyed bowling, golfing, all New England sports teams, visiting Hampton Beach and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his wonderful smile, pleasant disposition and manicured lawn.

After cremation, private services will be held at the convenience of the family. The family suggests donations in memory of Ray be made to VNA Hospice & Palliative Care, 199 Rosewood Drive, Suite 180, Danvers, MA 01923.
