PORTLAND- Phyllis Elaine (Morris) McLellan passed away peacefully on April 25, 2019. She
was born in the Caribbean to the late David W. and Gladys M. Morris.
After graduating from Portland High School, Phyllis attended Barbizon in New York. Local
education included Northwest Business College and the University of Maine, studying
business law and administration. She later completed training and then became an
instructor of cosmetology at Mansfield school.
Upon retirement to Sarasota, Florida, Phyllis trained and volunteered as a Guardian ad Litem,
and was a volunteer with Sarasota Memorial Hospital and with SCORE.
Her interests included gardening, reading, and art; the ocean was her solitude. Phyllis was
blessed with four children: Joanna Free, David William McLellan Jr, Michael Steven Rega
and Thomas Christopher Rega, as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will have a private memorial service
Friends and family may attend a memorial service on May 9th at 10:30 at the Wilde Memorial Chapel(Evergreen Cemetery)
