Denise M. (Gingras) McHugh, age 75, of Wilmington, passed away on April 26, 2019. She was the loving partner of John Ledwith.
Born and raised in Medford, Denise was the daughter of the late Dr. Albert F. and Louise (Fierling) Gingras. She was the youngest of 3 siblings, the late Albert, Jr. and Louise. She spent summers in Dennisport, Cape Cod where she made many friends and lasting memories. She was a graduate of the Girls Catholic High School in Malden and studied nursing for a time before becoming a wife and mother. Denise’s most cherished job was being a mom and raising her four children in Reading. Denise considered Reading her home where she made many life-long friends. After moving to Methuen Denise met her loving partner of 18 years, John. Denise loved to travel with John and spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was most known for her unwavering determination, love and devotion to her family and friends.
In addition to John, Denise leaves behind her children: Susan D. Nugent and her husband Chris of Reading, Linda M. Capeless and her husband Mike of Woburn, Francis P. McHugh III of Boston and Peter J. McHugh and his wife Lonie of Litchfield, NH. She was also the dear sister of Louise Jordan and her husband Robert of Medford, the sister-in-law of Carol Sharpe of Wilmington, and devoted grandmother of Peter, Kaitlyn, Courtney, Summer, Mike, Jr., Devin, Andrew, Ashlyn, Austin and Tyler. She is further lovingly survived by her “bonus kids” Marcia, Suzanne, Diane, John, Debbie, and Michael.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather at Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester on Tues., April 30 from 4-8PM, and again on Wed., at 8:30AM, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
