WEBSTER – Marjorie A. (Fontaine) Burke, 67, of 23 Klebart Avenue, died Sunday, Jan. 1, at home, after an illness.
She leaves her husband of 23 years, James R. Burke, Sr.; a stepson, James R. Burke, Jr., of West Boylston; 2 stepdaughters, Brenda Lee Shibley and her husband John of Martinsburg, West VA, and Pamela Mae Carlson and her husband Kenneth of Hubbardston; a brother, George Fontaine of Daytona Beach, FL; 2 sisters, Mary B. Fontaine of Webster and Dorothy Gregarick of Thompson, CT; 8 step grandchildren; a step great granddaughter; nieces and nephews.
She was born in Webster, daughter of the late George and Helena M. (Denoncourt) Fontaine, and lived here all her life. She graduated from Bartlett High School.
Mrs. Burke was a secretary at George Meyer Company in West Boylston for 25 years, and then worked in patient accounts for the Fallon Clinic in Worcester for 14 years, retiring in 2000.
She was a member of Saint Louis Church. She enjoyed ceramics.
A memorial Mass will be offered at 10:00 AM Friday, Jan. 13, in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake St. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The family suggests donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Mass. Affiliate, PO Box 415012, Boston, MA 02241-5012. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, East Main Street.
