Obituary

COCHITUATE: Evelyn L. “Jeep” (Archer) Morris, 77, of Cochituate and formerly of Osterville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at home following a courageous and dignified battle with ALS.
She joins her husband Richard R. “Dick” Morris, retired Captain/EMT of the Wayland Fire Department, who died on November 21, 2014.
Jeep was born in Framingham on September 10, 1941 the daughter of the late William B. Archer and Mary (Rennie) Archer.
She leaves behind her four daughters and sons in law; Janet and Andy Holland of Framingham, Linda and Rob Averill of Framingham, Lori and Peter Fichelis of Concord and Lisa and Stephen Sarmento of Malvern, PA. She was the treasured grandmother of Erin Gibbons, Andrew and Kelsey Holland, Jillian Donelly, Robbie and the late Brett Morris Averill, Lauren Daugherty, Connor and Sydney Fichelis, Alexandra, Michael, Spencer and Riley Sarmento and her four great-granddaughters, Taylor, Brynn, Holly and Maryn. Jeep was the youngest sister to William B. Archer, Jr of Ovieda, FL; Carol Weeks of Southborough and the late Janet Glynn.
Jeep and her late husband Dick were lifetime residents of Cochituate and also resided in Osterville for several years. She graduated from Wayland High School with the Class of 1959 and was the Captain of the Cheerleading Squad. She and Dick were high school sweethearts and enjoyed 55 years of marriage before his death. Jeep was a lifelong active member of the Community United Methodist Church and was always ready to lend a hand. She was an accomplished baker and enjoyed baking for her family and friends. For several years she was the Office Manager for the Real Estate firm of Price Ross Associates in Framingham.
She was the “Grandmother Extraordinaire” and attended all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sports and activities and was their biggest cheerleader. She always had a box of cookies to send with them and their teammates on their bus trips.
Jeep was known to have a passion for ice cream and could be found traveling all over to her favorite ice cream stands, both locally and on the Cape.
She will be fondly loved and remembered by her family who was the center of her life.
Visitations will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte, 30), Cochituate.
Her funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 10:30 am at the Community United Methodist Church, 5 Damon Street (corner of Rte. 27 and Damon St), Cochituate.
Interment will follow in the Morris family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Cochituate.
