Obituary

LOWELL—William F. Lewis, 86 years old, a longtime resident of Dracut, died Monday afternoon, January 3rd, at the D’Youville Senior Care, in Lowell. He was the husband of the late Mary Louise (Campbell) Lewis, who died in July of 2000.

He was born in Arlington, on November 11, 1919, a son of the late William and Mary E. (Loftus) Lewis. He was a graduate of Methuen High School.

Mr. Lewis served in the United States Army during World War II. He had been employed for over 37 years as a Repairman/Installer by the New England Telephone Company. He was a Life Member of the Chelmsford Lodge of Elks, and was an avid fan of hockey, having played until his early 60’s.

Surviving him are a son and daughter-in-law: William F. and Jane Lewis, Jr., of Chelmsford; a daughter: Judith A. Lewis-Kostoulakos, of Nashua, NH; four grandchildren: Kelly and Greg Davidson, of Pelham, NH; Kathleen Lewis, and her fiancé Peter Cantara, of Hollis, ME; Matthew and Michael Kostoulakos, both of Nashua, NH; one great grandson: Aaron William Davidson; a sister: Mary E. Griffin, of Virginia; a sister-in-law: Theresa Lewis, of Tewksbury; also several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was the brother of the late James Lewis and Dot McCarthy.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Friday January 6th, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). His Funeral Mass to be offered Saturday, January 7th, at 10 AM at ST. MARGARET’S CHURCH, Lowell. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
