LOWELL—Maria (Borges) Barbosa, 81 years old a resident of Lowell, died Sunday evening, January 2nd, at the Wentworth Skilled Care Center. She was the wife of the late Ancleto Borges, who died in 1978.
She was born in Azores, Portugal, on May 4, 1924, a daughter of the late Miguel S. and Aurelia (Bettencourt) Borges.
Mrs. Barbosa has resided in Lowell for the past 27 years, having previously lived in Union City, NJ; and Chicago, IL. She was worked for several years at Grace Shoe, in Lowell.
Surviving her are a sister: Guiomar Borges, of Lowell; a brother: Miguel Borges, of Azores, and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Aurelio and Ivo Borges.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass on Friday morning, January 6th, at 10 AM at ST. ANTHONY’S CHURCH, Lowell. There are no calling hours. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
